Non-Medical Hair Loss Treatments for Men

Balding  can be a difficult problem to deal with, especially for younger men. Fortunately, these period there is not as much negative stigma surrounding male hair loss and thinning hair so we see many men, even those with great hair are choosing to go completely bald.

We have a young guy who works in our office who just turned 18, but his hairline is middle-aged. He has chosen to not fight nature and shave his head completely and the look works quite well on him. For those of us who are thinning and not lucky to have the properly shaped dome for a bald head, following are a few non-medical treatment options to consider.

Cut it Short
As someone with a bit of male pattern baldness myself, I hit chosen to simply keep very short haircut and recommend this to my readers as the prizewinning option for dealing with hair loss. The rule of thumb is this: if you notice scalp on top, cut the sides short enough to expose an equal amount of scalp. This will help balance out your coverage and minimize the appearance of balding. Growing hair out or combing it over never works.

Mess it Up
Applying a diminutive amount of light product such as a American Crew's Texture Cream or light gel and tossing the material around on top can add texture and help make the balding area less noticeable.

Turn Up the Volume
Volumizing shampoos and conditioners can add broadness by lifting the stratum and swelling the material shaft. Look for a conditioner that specifically states that it is "weightless" and study the instructions carefully. Always use a light styling product to avoid weighing the material down. A blow dryer can be used to dry the hair and add volume as well.

Look Healthy
A trim, fit body and flourishing skin can do wonders for your appearance. If you can't grow thick hair, make everything else look as good as it can from your clothes to your tan.

Buy a Rug
Just don't buy a cheap rug. Burt Reynolds got it right - everybody knows it's a piece, but it looks so good the rug system does not distract from his appearance. A good hair piece will cover your baldness, but it's difficult to pull off around people who already know you are bald. Never opt for an inexpensive system. People can notice a cheap rug from across the room. Also keep in mind that no hair piece should be sutured to the scalp due to the risk of scarring and infection.

Turn on the Laser
Laser therapy devices, such as the HairMax LaserComb have worked well for some. These devices claim to reverse hair expiration by dynamical material follicles and promote growth. The HairMax crest has been cleared by the FDA for the promotion of new growth.

I believe it is always wise to keep yourself looking enthusiastic by staying optimistic and positive and working with your barber or stylist to create a style that works well with what you've got. End of the day it's really those that are balding that look for the alternative cures or the way to cover it up because it's a demoralizing daily issue. Still...there's hope
